About SunShine Mend
SunShine Mend is a solar engineering and service company. We design and install systems for homes and businesses, and we look after them for the long run — cleaning, testing, repairing and upgrading so they keep earning their keep.
Our promise
Every system we touch is documented, tested and supported after handover — no disappearing installers.
Why we exist
Most solar problems aren't caused by the sun or the panels. They're caused by rushed design, careless wiring and nobody coming back. We built SunShine Mend to fix exactly that.
Our story
The team behind SunShine Mend came from electrical contracting and repair work. Again and again we were called to systems that were only a few years old but already underperforming — panels pointed into afternoon shade, strings mismatched, isolators missing, cable joints taped instead of crimped, inverters fitted in hot cupboards with no airflow. The owners had been promised decades of savings and were getting a fraction of them.
Fixing those systems taught us what good solar really requires. It is not the brand on the panel that makes the biggest difference; it is the quality of the design decisions and the care taken on every connection. It is also having someone who answers the phone when the output drops.
So we built a company that does both halves of the job. We install new systems to a standard we are proud to put our name on, and we run a dedicated service team for maintenance, diagnostics and repair — for our own installations and for systems fitted by others.
What we stand for
These are not slogans on a wall. They decide what we recommend, what we refuse to cut corners on, and how we behave when something goes wrong.
We size systems to your real consumption and roof, not to the biggest number we can sell. If solar will not pay back for you, we say so plainly.
Shade analysis, voltage and current calculations, cable sizing and protection design come before any panel is ordered.
Proper earthing, correct isolation, weather-sealed entries, tidy labelled cable runs and safe roof practice on every site.
Monitoring set-up, scheduled check-ins, cleaning plans and fast fault response keep your system producing year after year.
Our installation standards
A neat array on the roof is only half of a good installation. The rest happens in junction boxes, cable trays, isolators and earthing points. These are the standards we hold every installer to — and the checklist our supervisors sign off before handover.
